Another Lib-dem failure when recently, Jonathan Spencer was horrified to note that the local mini recycling centre in St Mary’s Social club car park was so mini it was barely noticeable and hardly encouraging for residents to use. Jonathan encouraged local residents to write to the Sussex Express and Lewes District Council with the following points: 1. There was no sign to point out to the public it was recycling centre 2. The only visible bin was padlocked. 3. The other bins were to the rear of the building hidden by parked cars and awkwardly next to a private venue.
Lewes District Council have now accepted this is unsuitable and have promised to set about correcting these faults.
Are there any issues about recycling you wish to see altered ? Why not contact our local campaigners Sam Hasan or Jonathan Spencer, to do this you can use the contact link at the top of the page.

There is no place like home

You may have heard the news that under this Tory-led Government, there has been a 17% increase in the number of families losing their homes. These aren’t just dry statistics – they are real families facing homelessness.  The Government must change course, stop cutting too far and too fast and come up with a Plan B for the economy – before more people lose their homes.
